Super Mario is the legendary Nintendo side-scrolling platform game that has defined the genre for decades. You guide Mario — the mustachioed plumber — through eight worlds packed with Goombas, Koopa Troopas, hidden passages, underground tunnels, and towering castles at the end of every world. The mission: reach Princess Peach, who has been kidnapped by the villainous Bowser.

Power-Ups That Change Everything

• 🍄 Super Mushroom: Mario grows to full size, can break brick blocks, and survives one hit from an enemy before shrinking.
• 🌸 Fire Flower: Transforms Mario into Fire Mario, allowing him to throw bouncing fireballs that defeat most enemies on contact.
• ⭐ Super Star: Grants temporary invincibility — Mario flashes and defeats any enemy he touches, though it wears off after a few seconds.

Enemies and How to Beat Them

Every enemy in Super Mario has a distinct behavior pattern. Learning them is key to clearing stages efficiently:

• 🍄 Goomba: The most basic enemy — walks straight toward you. Stomp once to defeat.
• 🐢 Koopa Troopa: More resilient than Goombas. Stomp to knock them into their shell, then kick the shell to clear groups of enemies.
• 🐢 Koopa Paratroopa: Flying turtle — stomp once to ground them, then treat them like a regular Koopa.
• 🌵 Piranha Plant: Emerges from pipes. Never jump into a pipe while one is visible; wait for it to retreat before passing.
• 🔨 Hammer Bro: Throws hammers in arcs. Fireballs or running underneath at the right moment are the safest solutions.

Tips for Faster Clears and Higher Scores

• 🏃 Hold the run button through open stretches — running jumps travel much further and let you clear wide gaps easily.
• 🧱 Hit every question mark block you see early in a level to secure power-ups before difficult sections.
• 🎯 Flagpole height matters — the higher up you grab the pole, the more bonus points you earn at the end of the level.
• 🌿 In World 1-2, there is a hidden warp zone above the pipe section near the end — you can skip to World 4 or beyond from there.
• 🏆 Collecting 100 coins awards an extra life, so always grab coin trails even when in a hurry.
